May 8: Habitat for Humanity – Chapter Volunteers Needed!
Join us in representing all things Georgia by signing up to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity on May 8th, 2010 from 8:30am – 4pm. This will be a deconstruction project in Raleigh, NC (more details and directions to the site will be e-mailed out once we have all our volunteers registered). We are in need of 20 volunteers for this project.
PLEASE NOTE: 16 is the minimum age and a parental consent will be issued prior to the event. If you have specific questions or concerns please contact Kim Monahan (kbmonahan@gmail.com), our project coordinator for this event and the Research Triangle Chapter Vice President.
There are two steps: registering & signing up.
To Register:
- Go to the webpage http://habitatwake.volunteerhub.com
- If this is your first visit click `Register’ and continue to the next page. (If you have been to this page before, log in using your created username and password and continue.)
- Read the Covenant Not To Sue and Release Agreement
- Create a Username and Password
- Click `Next’
- Check the box next to “UGA Triangle Dawgs” and click `Next’
- Fill in all spaces in the User Registration page
- Click `Next’
- Verify the information is correct on the User Registration: Confirmation page
- Click `Finish’
- Click `Finish’ again
You will automatically be directed to the online schedule page where you can view available slots for “UGA Triangle Dawgs”.
To Sign Up:
- To view more information about a volunteer day, click on any of the tabs labeled “UGA Triangle Dawg”
- Once you decide on the date/time slot you are interested in, click `Sign Up’
- Click `Next’
- Check the correct Group Affiliation (UGA Triangle Dawgs) and click `Next’
- Verify your information is correct and click `Finish’
- Click `Finish’ again
June 12: The 5k Komen Race for the Cure
The 5k Komen Race for the Cure will be at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC on June 12th, 2010. There are several options available for participating in this event. You can walk, you can run or you can sleep in yet still register to show your support with a donation and/or you can simply make a donation on behalf of our team to show your support.
How to Register:
Go to: http://www.komennctriangle.org/komen-race-for-the-cure/
Click on “Register”
Click on “Join a Team”
The page will refresh & you’ll have to click on “Join a Team” again. Scroll down a smidge and type in “UGA Triangle Dawgs” and select “college” as the division. You’ll then click the box at the bottom that says “search for team“. The page will refresh and again you’ll scroll down a smidge where you’ll see the link to our team “UGA Triangle Dawgs“. Click “JOIN TEAM” then proceed with registering yourself & making your payment for your registration fee. PLEASE NOTE: If you are registering more than one person in your family it will give you the option to “add a family member” at the end of each participant you register.
