Grady College Public Relations Student Society of America DC Trip
February 26
For the second year, Grady College’s PRSSA student group will be in DC February 24-26, 2010 to tour local Public Relations agencies and shadow professionals. This trip provides Juniors and Seniors with a close-up look at the communications profession in DC.
The chapter is currently seeking DC communications professionals interested in hosting a student for a half or full day of shadowing on Friday, February 26. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact PRSSA Faculty Advisor Dr. Betty Jones at betjones@uga.edu.

Alternative Spring Break Students – Dinner Sponsors Needed
March 9 & 12
Each spring, the DC Dawgs sponsors UGA students taking part in the Alternative Spring Break here in our area. We are once again excited to take part in this program and provide dinner on two separate occasions for the students giving of their time. The chapter will provide the students with dinner on March 9 and 12.
Alums are needed to:
- Contribute food items for a potluck style dinner
- Make a donation to the Chapter to purchase dinner for the students
- Attend dinner at a local restaurant and cover the cost of a student’s dinner
- Offer to host dinner at their house
If you are able to assist, or have any questions, please contact Student Involvement Coordinator, Evangeline George.
Shamrock Fest Ticket Fundraiser
March 13
Thinking of going to Shamrock Fest this year? Buy your tickets using the special DC Dawgs code (see below) and a portion of the sales will go directly to the Washington, DC Chapter! Money raised helps us host events throughout the year and support the UGA Alumni Association’s scholarship endowment fund. Please share the code with anyone you know purchasing tickets!
The National ShamrockFest features over 50 amazing bands and DJs on a dozen stages, plus roving entertainers, endless drink stations, food and craft vendors, an Irish Village, Shamrock Pub Games, carnival rides & games, massive tented and open areas, and much, much more.

Caps vs. Thrashers – Gauging Interest
April 1
The DC Dawgs are considering buying group rate tickets to the Caps v. Thrashers game, Thursday, April 1, 2010. Tickets would be about $40 per person. Please e-mail Doug Matties if you are interested in this event. We need an approximation of those interested to ensure we purchase the correct number of tickets.
