Russell A. Harrell, ‘73, of Winterville is proud to be part of a four generation UGA alumni family.
According to Russell, it all began with his grandfather Augustus O. Harrell who attended UGA before graduating from the Medical College of Georgia. For many years, Dr. Harrell practiced medicine in Clarke County and the surrounding area.
Russell’s parents Joseph R. ’64 and Grady Lou Harrell ’64 both graduated from the UGA School of Pharmacy. Russell’s father was also a chiropractor.
Russell and his wife, Rebecca, have two daughters, Cynthia,’98 and Angela,’04 who were both members of the Redcoat Band. Cynthia, now a first grade teacher at Prince Avenue Baptist Christian School, played the clarinet. Angela played flute and piccolo and is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Athens Technical College.
Now retired from CertainTeed, Russell observes that Bulldog blood runs deep in his family.
