Cliff Campbell ‘50 of Thomasville, Ga. heads up a three-generation UGA alumni legacy. Before moving to Thomasville in 1969, Cliff, a retired banker and president of the former Alumni Society 1987-89, worked in Atlanta and Albany.
Cliff’s son, Clay ‘80, is a current UGA Alumni Association Board member. Clay, who also lives in Thomasville, is president of Archbold Health Care Inc. and is married to the Frances (Holland) ‘80.
Clay and Frances’ oldest son, Clay, Jr. ‘05 lives in Chattanooga, Tn. and their youngest son Henry and daughter Katie are students at UGA. Henry is a junior and Katie is a freshman.
Frances’ parents, now deceased, were Emory and Dolly Arnold Holland of Newnan, Ga. Emory and Cliff were fraternity brothers in Phi Delta Theta. Clay is an ATO and Clay, Jr. and Henry are SAEs. Katie is an ADPi like her mother and grandmother.
The Campbells have season football tickets and find a good opportunity at home games for family tailgating.
Cliff’s wife, a longtime Bulldog fan, says she and their other son, Dick, who went to North Georgia College, are the only black sheep in the family.
She deserves special recognition, however, for all those hours spent accompanying Cliff to alumni meetings through the years.
