Julie Lowrey Cannon received a degree from UGA's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in 1985.
She is the author of three other novels, ''Truelove & Homegrown Tomatoes,'' '''Mater Biscuit'' and ''Those Pearly Gates.''
She lives in Watkinsville, Ga. with her husband and three children.
