The book, “How to Achieve a Heaven on Earth” is an anthology of 80 original essays and 21 reprints of articles and speeches. Presidents Obama and Bush as well as Tony Blair and a host of notables and ordinary people with extraordinary things to say make up the book. As Tony Blair said in his speech concerning faith and peace, “Idealism becomes the new realism.” That theme runs throughout the whole book. It is a book of goals, obstacles, means and faith.
One on-line review (Reading at the Beach.com) said, “Everyone who cares about the state of the world should take the time to read this book.”

Tarkenton reveals for the first time:
Ø Details about the infamous 1975 playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys
Ø Specifics about the personal tragedy he experienced after the infamous 1975 game
Ø His love for New York City and what it meant to play for the New York Giants
Ø Why to this day it’s still hard for him to return to the Twin Cities
Ø Why he has thrived in business after leaving football
Every Day is Game Day delves into Tarkenton the entrepreneur, the friend, the father as well never-before-told stories about his closest friendships, favorite players, and most influential people to cross his path. This is not just a book about football or a great athlete, but also a book about a genuine and inspiring leader who has touched the hearts and souls of many.

The two books’ unique, cutting edge attributes include: (1) critical aspects of the neuroscience that underlies various aspects of forming and maintaining loving relationships (e.g., “the brain in love,” how the brain processes and represents sex, love, emotional regulation and relationship management); (2) “new age” issues (e.g., the economy; internet dating); (3) vignettes of real individuals and couples from the authors case files; and (4) figures and diagrams that clearly illustrate the concepts presented and discussed.
The books’ authors, with many years of experience as psychologists, professors and scholars, conceptualize loving relationships and improving them as representing developmental processes that are best seen as a kind of ongoing and ever-evolving “dance” between two individuals – relationships are not events! Reading these books will contribute to, enrich and enhance any individual’s or couple’s developmental processes… and especially themselves and their loving relationships.

She received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Georgia and a B.A. in Interior Design from the American College for the Applied Arts in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to Leah Richardson Interior Design, Leah also uses her creative and spiritual talents for Leah Richardson Ministries and jc&me Designs.
Interior Wisdom: Designing Your Home and Heart for the Lord (Bright Sky Press, June 2009) by Leah Richardson, is a beautiful creative metaphor comparing the step-by-step interior design process for our earthly house, and the Lord’s design process for our spiritual house. She believes that the best-planned homes adapt to the ebb and flow of life. “Life is not static,” she says, “it is constantly changing.” She adapts to the changes and challenges in her life by focusing on her strong faith in Christ. Just as a room that is out of scale, unbalanced and has no emphasis or focus can be improved through design, our life and heart can be redesigned to create a life full of meaning and purpose by following the Lord’s plan for us.
From foundation to finishing details, Leah Richardson walks the reader through the design process giving design ideas, practical applications of design principles, and greater insight into creating a beautiful functional environment in which to raise a family and entertain friends.
Leah is available to speak to groups across the country about creating a healthy home and a healthy heart. Inspired by the spirit, her warm voice welcomes those who seek a new path to rediscovering personal happiness by filling their lives with interior wisdom.

The University of Georgia Law School is pleased to announce Speaking Up: The Unintended Costs of Free Speech in Public Schools (Harvard University Press, 2009), written by Professor Anne Proffitt Dupre ‘88.
Judges, teachers, principals and legislatures have been stuggling for decades to find a formula for school speech that balances liberty and order. This debate has played out against the vibrant tapestry of some of the most riveting periods in American history. It spans the Nazi build-up in Europe, the Vietnam War, the civil rights movement and the Columbine shootings. The players in this rich drama are complex and fascinating characters. Professor Anne Proffitt Dupre uses the court opinions of the time to bring the school speech story to life in a clear and lively style, sprinkled with wry humor.
Nationally recognized as an expert in education law and policy, Anne Proffitt Dupre joined the University of Georgia School of Law faculty in 1994 and, 10 years later, became the fourth woman in Georgia Law history to be appointed to an endowed position. She currently occupies a J. Alton Hosch Professorship and teaches Education Law, Children and the Law, and Contracts. She is a 1988 graduate of the Georgia School of Law, where she graduated first in her class and served as editor in chief of the Georgia Law Review.
