There will be a memorial service this fall for one of our fallen alumni, 1LT Ashley Henderson-Huff, on Sept. 18, 2009. She was an honored 2004 graduate of UGA Army ROTC and proudly served our country abroad. She was killed on Sept. 19, 2006 by a suicide bomber who attacked her convoy in Mosul, Iraq. She served as a Platoon Leader in the 549th Military Police Company. The United States military has awarded 1LT Huff the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. She was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Combat Action Badge. Her friends, family, and current UGA Army ROTC wish to raise $2000 for her memorial service and to dedicate the ROTC cadet lounge to honor the memory of the ultimate sacrifice she made to serve our nation.
We would love for your organization to take part in that service by helping with donations as well as being honored by your presence at 1LT Huff’s memorial service at the UGA North Chapel on Sept. 18, 2009.
Donations can be made out to UGA Army ROTC Cadet Funds and should be mailed to the following address:
265 Baldwin Street North Campus (Military Building) Athens, GA 30602
