DC Dawgs

I was pleased to join our Washington, DC alumni chapter -affectionately known as the DC Dawgs- earlier this month as we recognized them for being our 2009 Chapter of the Year.  UGA Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs Jere Morehead addressed the crowd, as did our Sr. Vice President for External Affairs Tom Landrum.

Here you see Chapter president Valerie Elston ‘04, ‘04 and the board.  She does a fantastic job for us in the Washington area, and was recognized as our Volunteer of the Year.  The DC Dawgs, more than 3,000 strong, is the only alumni chapter to be recognized twice as Chapter of the Year, having first received the award in 2005.  Special thanks to Randy Nuckolls ‘74, ‘77 with McKenna, Long & Aldridge for hosting the event.
