Amy Hollingshead Amy D. Hollingshead, M.A., Publisher, The Thrifty Nickel Classifieds. Over the years, an abundance of enthusiasm, experience and education have made Amy's life a beautiful tapestry. She graduated from The University of Georgia in 1987 earning a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising with a minor in Psychology. Then, in 2000, she completed her Master of Arts in Counseling from Liberty University, with her fourth child due on graduation day! Following her academic training, Amy served as an Adjunct Instructor for Shorter College School of Business from 2001-2005. During that same time, she developed a Business and Human Services Curriculum for The Institute for Professional Development in conjunction with Shorter College. Key topics included: Management of Self & Others, Abnormal Psychology, and Team Building. From 2004-2009, Amy worked as the Director of Education for an international non-profit organization. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and maintains a private practice where she specializes in life coaching and counseling. Throughout her dynamic life journey, Amy also worked for over 20 years as a successful outside sales professional with the Marietta Thrifty Nickel franchise, purchasing the classified-only publication in September of 2008. During that same 20 years, she also volunteered as a mentor and counselor in various half-way houses and ministries in the greater Atlanta area. Amy has been married for 22 years to her best friend and has four amazing daughters ages 17, 15, 11 and 9. She loves to hike, walk, laugh, read, play tennis, drink coffee, and spend time with friends!
