Dr. Steven Stice

Dr. Stice is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative scientists and entrepreneurs. His credits include producing the world’s first cloned rabbit, the world’s first cloned calves and the first pigs cloned from adult cells. He was granted a patent on efficient animal cloning techniques and produced the world’s first human embryonic stem cells derived from discarded embryos. In 2007, he developed neural stem cells, the first product commercialized from human embryonic stem cells. Dr. Stice is a Professor at the University of Georgia, a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar and serves as Director of the Regenerative Bioscience Center at the University of Georgia. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Stice is a founder of Aruna Biomedical Inc., and is currently its Chief Scientific Officer. Earlier, he was Chief Scientific Officer of ProLinia Inc. and at Advanced Cell Technology Inc. Dr. Stice earned his PhD in the Animal Science department at University of Massachusetts, his MS from Iowa State University and his BS from the University of Illinois.
