Flying the Secret Sky: The Story of the RAF Ferry Command is the fascinating story of Bill
VanDer-Kloot, Jr. who was one of hundreds of civilian and military flyers who risked their lives
pioneering global air routes during WWII. The difficulties thev faced made them expert pilots and in 1942, VanDerKloot was asked by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to become his wartime pilot, heading a crew of American and Canadian Ferry Command Airmen.
For Bill VanDerKloot III, the film's writer, director and producer, the filmmaking has had a personal resonance, as he traced his
father's footsteps and his flight paths.
